About Us
A locally owned Seattle electrical company built on straight talk and solid work
Our Story
East Seattle Electric started in 2007 with a straightforward idea: Seattle homeowners and small business owners deserve an electrician they can actually trust. One who shows up on time, gives them a straight answer, and doesn't disappear after the job is done.
Hayden Phillips founded the company after spending years working as an apprentice and journeyman electrician on residential and commercial projects across the Seattle area. He'd seen too many jobs done fast instead of done right. He'd watched customers get oversold on services they didn't need. He wanted to build something different — a small operation where quality and honesty weren't just slogans.
In the years since, East Seattle Electric has grown through word of mouth. The customers we've served on Capitol Hill tell their neighbors in Madrona. The small business owner in the Central District recommends us to a colleague in Bellevue. That kind of growth only happens when you do the work right, and it's something we take seriously with every job we take on.
We're still a small team — intentionally. That's what allows us to maintain the quality and personal attention our customers expect. When you call us, you get people who know your neighborhood, understand Seattle's older housing stock, and take real pride in the work they do.
What Drives Every Job We Take On
Honesty First
We tell you what the job actually involves and what it will cost before we start. No hidden fees, no upsells you don't need.
Done Right the First Time
Every job gets done to code and to standard. We stand behind our work and come back if anything isn't right.
Respect for Your Home
We treat every home like it's our own. Clean, careful, respectful — whether it's a $200 outlet swap or a full rewire.
Familiar Faces
You're not getting a rotating crew of strangers. When you call East Seattle Electric, you know who's showing up.
Deep Roots in Seattle
East Seattle Electric isn't a national franchise. We don't have a call center routing your job to whoever's available. We are a Seattle electrical company — our team lives here, works here, and knows these neighborhoods the way you can only know them when you've actually spent time in them.
We know the Craftsman bungalows in Madrona that still have original knob-and-tube wiring. We know the mid-century ranches in Leschi where aluminum wiring is common. We know the commercial buildings in the Central District that have gone through multiple tenant build-outs and need careful tracing before any new work can start. That local knowledge isn't something you can get from a contractor who just drove in from the suburbs.
We give back to the community we work in. We support local businesses, refer customers to other trades we trust, and take pride in being part of what makes Seattle neighborhoods good places to live and work.
